AI Ads Blitz: The Game-Changing Marketing Revolution at the 2025 Super Bowl!

The Super Bowl may have officially come and gone, but the impact is still being felt. Millions of people tuned in to watch the annual championship game with more than a few attractions, including Kendrick Lamar leveraging on Drake's immense popularity and pull to perform his Grammy-winning diss track at the halftime show. Not to mention Serena Williams vibing on the dance floor to the detriment of her Ex.

However, AI was in full display and a constant presence, taking advantage of multi-million-dollar ad spots. It was a huge deal for the AI industry in its push for upward growth and expansion.

Key Highlights

OpenAI made its presence known in what is its first-ever Super Bowl ad to bring ChatGPT to the masses. The commercial was the AI startup’s first attempt at high-profile marketing, featuring a pointillism animation style, where black and white dots represent significant historical milestones, including the invention of the light bulb and the moon landing, leading up to the emergence of generative AI.

OpenAI's ad was received with mixed signals from viewers, but that's something the company is used to. The company is on a rebranding mission and the Super Bowl was the ideal platform to make everyone in on recent changes.

Google is another company that showcased its AI product, the Gemini chatbot. The commercial highlighted how a father uses the AI tool to juggle preparing for his dream job interview while raising his daughter and teaching tough life lessons. While the ad was straightforward, it was sweet and more in tune with modern realities.

Salesforce's ad demonstrated how “AI was meant to be,” and featured “Interstellar” star Matthew McConaughey as he rushes through the ever-busy Heathrow Airport. After booking online, he’s caught off guard by a last-minute gate change, resulting in a frantic race to catch his plane. The ad suggested that if he had used Agentforce, Salesforce’s platform for building autonomous AI agents, he could have had a less stressful experience.

Meta wasn't left out as the company promoted its Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses in an ad spot that features Hollywood stars Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pratt, and Kris Jenner as they explore an art gallery. While Pratt asks the AI-powered glasses about the artwork, Hemsworth eats an expensive banana, referencing Justin Sun, the Tron founder and blockchain billionaire who purchased a $6.2 million piece that consisted solely of a banana taped to a wall.

According to a leaked all-hands meeting, Mark Zuckerberg reportedly told employees that the company sold over 1 million Ray-Ban Meta glasses in 2024. The AI ad might see more sales in 2025.

The web-hosting platform, GoDaddy brought its A-game to the sporting event, showcasing its AI product “Airo.” The tool was designed to help small businesses create professional-quality logos, website designs, and promotional content for social media. The ad featured actor Walton Goggins demonstrating how he uses Airo to create a website to promote his own line of goggles, named the Goggins goggles.

In the ad, Goggins stated that actors are great at pretending, and small business owners can easily do the same. Because who needs to know what they’re doing when you can ask an AI to do it for you?

Water bottle brand Cirkul used star actor Adam Devine for its ad. He enlists the help of an AI assistant to order a Cirkul water bottle. However, the AI mistakenly interprets his request, ordering 100,000 water bottles instead. This highlights the unpredictable results of relying on the tech for everyday tasks. The ad announced that Cirkul planned to give out 100,000 free bottles to customers viewing the game.

Several startups also gave the 2025 Super Bowl ads a shot, using the platform to showcase innovative products to millions of fans present and online.
