Elon Musk says his Grok 3 outperforms AI chatbots like ChatGPT and DeepSeek
Elon Musk announces Grok 3, his latest AI chatbot, is set to launch soon, outperforming all existing chatbots in reasoning and coding.

Elon Musk has announced that Grok 3, the latest AI chatbot from his company xAI, is in its final development stages and is poised to outperform all other AI chatbots on the market. Musk revealed this during a video call at the World Governments Summit in Dubai, stating that Grok 3 has demonstrated very powerful reasoning capabilities in tests. He anticipates its release within a week or two.
Grok 3 is designed as a direct competitor to OpenAI's ChatGPT and Alphabet's Google, with Musk also having co-founded OpenAI. According to Musk, Grok 3's capabilities are "kind of scary," and its performance surpasses any existing chatbot.
The development of Grok 3 includes a focus on political neutrality, with the AI model being trained using diverse data sources, including legal documents and court case filings. This is part of an effort to overcome previous challenges related to political bias in AI responses.
Grok 3 has significantly more compute power than its predecessor, Grok 2, and was trained at xAI's Memphis data center. The model has demonstrated impressive capabilities in logical reasoning and coding, even during an unplanned release to select users.
However, one xAI engineer, Benjamin De Kraker, resigned after being asked to delete a social media post ranking AI models, including the unreleased Grok 3. De Kraker's ranking placed Grok 3 second in coding capabilities, behind OpenAI's models but ahead of Claude 3.5 Sonnet and DeepSeek.
