India Today Unveils AI Popstars Aishan and Ruh
India Today Group introduces AI popstars Aishan and Ruh, blending human creativity with AI to create a new music genre called A-Pop.

In a groundbreaking move, Indian news-media firm India Today has launched two AI-generated pop stars, Aishan and Ruh, marking a significant innovation in the music industry. This initiative, unveiled at the India Today Conclave 2025, represents a fusion of technology, art, and entertainment, introducing a new genre of music known as A-Pop.
Aishan and Ruh are not just virtual personas; they are interactive, adaptive, and capable of real-time engagement, redefining the artist-audience connection. Aishan, a 22-year-old virtual artist, combines indie acoustic, pop, and R&B styles, while Ruh, a 24-year-old, embodies a free-spirited and vibrant personality, creating new-age pop music inspired by diverse cultures.
A-Pop is described as a fluid, evolving, and collaborative creative process that merges human imagination with AI capabilities. This genre is not limited to traditional music production methods; it allows for lyrics written by humans, composed by AI, and sung by AI, or vice versa. Kalli Purie, Vice Chairperson of India Today Group, emphasized that A-Pop is more than a genre; it is a new frontier in music, unrestricted by conventional limitations.
Aishan and Ruh have a presence on major music streaming platforms such as Spotify, YouTube Music, and Apple Music, as well as social media platforms like Instagram. Their debut singles, "Purana Pyaar" by Aishan and "Rehna Tere Saath" by Ruh, are now available for listeners worldwide.
This launch follows India Today Group's previous innovation with India's first AI news anchor, Sana, introduced two years ago. The group continues to push boundaries by integrating AI into different sectors, showcasing its commitment to technological advancements in media and entertainment.
The introduction of Aishan and Ruh signifies a new era in music, where AI and human creativity collaborate to produce unique sounds and immersive experiences. As the music industry continues to evolve, initiatives like A-Pop are likely to redefine how music is created, consumed, and interacted with.
