New reports indicate that Apple is developing a new health app codenamed "Project Mulberry," featuring an AI assistant designed to provide personalized health management recommendations. This new app is expected to launch alongside iOS 19.4. However, the exact release date remains unconfirmed and could be sometime soon or potentially delayed until next year.

Connected Devices

The updated health app is expected to connect with users' Apple devices and third-party applications. The AI health assistant will leverage this data to offer health improvement suggestions and recommendations. To enhance the AI assistant's intelligence, Apple is collaborating with numerous medical experts to train the AI model. These experts will generate content for the app, explaining various health conditions and offering improvement strategies.

For instance, if the health app detects an adverse trend in a user's heart rate, the AI assistant might suggest an educational video about heart disease risks. Furthermore, Apple plans to develop features allowing the AI assistant to utilize the device's camera to provide feedback on users' physical activity and exercise.

Improved Applications

Apple's dive into AI hasn't been convincing. The company has received criticism for bugs and inaccuracies,  but this AI health app project demonstrates Apple's commitment to offering users more valuable health management solutions in a competitive market.

Separately, reports suggest Apple plans to integrate cameras into future Apple Watch models to support AI functionality. According to reports, the standard Apple Watch will incorporate the camera within the display, similar to an iPhone's front-facing camera, while the Apple Watch Ultra will feature a camera lens positioned beside the watch face.
