The company unveiled the establishment of the "vivo Robotics Lab," which will be dedicated to developing smart home robots to meet evolving market demands.

According to an insider, vivo plans to leverage its accumulated expertise in artificial intelligence (AI) and imaging technologies, combined with its self-developed mixed reality headset, to build the robots' "eyes" and "brain." This will enable future vivo robots to understand their surroundings, comprehend user needs, and provide appropriate responses. This initiative represents a bold exploration by vivo in the rapidly developing AI landscape, aiming to bring cutting-edge technology into homes.

At the Forum, vivo also showcased its mixed reality headset, demonstrating preliminary results of its machine vision capabilities. Plans include integrating this technology into the upcoming X200Ultra phone to enhance user experience. vivo's goal is to launch consumer-grade robots for the home market, geared towards addressing everyday user pain points.

vivo Executive Vice President Hu Boshan reiterated that robots will serve as a bridge connecting the physical and digital worlds. Accordingly, the company has begun recruiting talent in relevant fields, including a chief robotics scientist, to accelerate its robotics projects. Within the next three to five years, vivo expects to unveil a prototype offering a complete user experience, followed by the launch of commercially available home robots.
