Billie Eilish Slams Fake Met Gala Photos as AI Fabrications
The Grammy Award Winner lashed out at criticisms of her supposed outfit, as she wasn’t even present.
This year’s Met Gala was eye-popping, especially for fans who saw plenty of standout looks on the carpet. Billie Eilish was not among them, and understandably so, as she was on tour in Europe.
Despite this fact, social media followers reacted to fake images of the singer-songwriter at the 2025 gala, not realizing that the outfit they were so passionately denouncing was AI-generated. The overwhelming amount of criticism over Eilish’s fake look reached a point that the artist herself addressed the comments on Instagram Stories.
“Seeing people talk about what I wore to this year’s Met Gala ‘being trash.’ I wasn’t there!” said Eilish in the video posted on Wednesday. “That’s AI. I had a show in Europe that night. Let me be! I wasn’t even there!”
Eilish had performed in Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome on May 4 and 5, with an additional concert scheduled on May 7 — which would have made it extraordinarily difficult for her to jet to New York City for the Met Gala, then return to the Netherlands in time for her next show.
