Google's NotebookLM now lets Users Customize Audio Overviews
The AI note-taking and research assistant will enhance audio quality.
Users can now choose how they want their AI podcasts to sound in NotebookLM. The new feature offers four styles: Deep Dive, Brief, Critique, and Debate.
A Deep Dive is a longer conversation where two AI hosts talk in detail about a topic and ask each other questions.
A Brief is a short summary that gives you the key points fast.
A Critique reviews your sources and gives feedback on how to make them better.
A Debate has two AI hosts sharing different opinions on the same topic.
Each format can be made longer or shorter depending on what the user wants.
Google is also adding new voices for AI podcasts, which many users had been asking for.
This update is part of Google’s larger plan to grow NotebookLM. Just a few weeks ago, the company launched Video Overviews, which turn notes, PDFs, and images into easy-to-understand video presentations.
NotebookLM also recently added featured notebooks from authors, publications, researchers, and nonprofits, giving users more topics to explore. And in May, Google released standalone NotebookLM apps for both Android and iOS.
The new podcast formats are launching worldwide in all languages and should be available to everyone this week, according to Google.
