Google has launched a sweeping set of AI-powered product updates that embed artificial intelligence across its ecosystem of devices and services.

The most significant announcement is Gemini 3.5 Live Translate, a speech-to-speech translation model supporting more than 70 languages that preserves speaker intonation and reduces unnatural pauses.

The system is designed to make real-time conversations feel more natural, maintaining the emotional nuance of the original speaker while translating. This represents a significant leap from earlier translation tools that often produced robotic, disconnected output.

Google also introduced Android 17, which includes new floating app windows that allow users to run multiple apps in resizable, overlapping windows. The biometric lock feature can remotely lock a missing phone, securing user data.

Additionally, the new Google Home Speaker is built around Gemini to enable natural conversations, moving beyond simple command-response interactions to more fluid, contextual dialogue. The speaker can engage in back-and-forth conversation, remember context, and respond to follow-up questions naturally.

"Gemini 3.5 Live Translate captures the emotion, tone, and nuance of the original speaker. It's not just translating words — it's translating meaning and feeling." – Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google

Google has integrated computer use into Gemini 3.5 Flash, allowing AI agents to work across desktop, mobile, and browser environments. The company also released Gemma 4 12B, a local AI model that runs on laptops with 16GB of memory.

This represents a strategic move toward making AI more accessible and private, as users can run powerful models without sending data to the cloud. The model is designed to handle complex reasoning, coding, and content generation tasks entirely on-device.

The Google AI product expansion reflects the company's strategy of embedding AI across its entire ecosystem. With these announcements, Google is demonstrating that its AI ambitions extend far beyond chatbots.

Gemini 3.5 Live Translate is available immediately, while Android 17 and the new Home Speaker are expected in the coming months. Gemma 4 12B is now available for download.

The question is no longer whether AI will be embedded in everyday devices, but how seamlessly it will integrate into the way people live, work, and communicate.
