Thomson Reuters has solidified its leadership in AI-powered professional services with the launch of expanded agentic AI solutions designed to automate complex, multi-step workflows across tax, audit, legal, and compliance functions. Announced at its SYNERGY 2025 Conference in November, these innovations bring practical advancements that enable professionals to delegate routine and document-intensive tasks, freeing up time for strategic and judgment-driven work.

The centerpiece of the new offerings is ONESOURCE+, an intelligent compliance network that integrates tax, trade, legal, and risk management into a unified platform powered by agentic AI capabilities. This network streamlines tax sales and use filings with end-to-end automation, reportedly reducing processing times by 40–60%.

Key enhancements also include next-generation features for CoCounsel Tax, Audit and Accounting, and CoCounsel Legal. The CoCounsel platform now automates U.S. 1040 tax return preparation with a "ready to review" status, delivers bulk document review capabilities of up to 10,000 documents, and incorporates authoritative content from bodies like AICPA, FASB, GASB, and IFRS. These capabilities are being deployed in phased beta releases through early 2026.

David Wong, Chief Product Officer at Thomson Reuters, described the company's unique position: “Thomson Reuters is the only company with the complete foundation required for professional-grade agentic AI—advanced reasoning models, comprehensive content, thousands of domain experts, and the trusted tools professionals already use daily. We're not just launching products; we’re enabling our customers to delegate complex work, reduce manual tasks, and focus their expertise where it matters most.”

The agentic AI solutions exemplify how Thomson Reuters is reimagining workflows traditionally bogged down by manual document review and compliance checks. By providing AI systems that can independently execute multi-step tasks and produce audit-ready outputs, the company is helping accounting, legal, and compliance professionals modernize their practices, increase efficiency, and deliver advisory services faster and with greater confidence.

As adoption grows—CoCounsel is already in use at over 1,300 firms globally—these tools mark a significant progression toward generalized intelligence in professional AI applications, setting new industry standards for workflow automation and decision support.
