The U.S. government has granted approval for Nvidia to export its most advanced artificial intelligence chips to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), reflecting a pivotal move in the global AI hardware landscape. The export licenses, issued to Microsoft, allow shipment of up to 60,400 Nvidia GB300 GPUs, among the world’s most powerful AI processors engineered to accelerate large-scale AI model training and deployment. In parallel with the export approval, Microsoft revealed plans to increase its investment in the UAE's AI and cloud infrastructure to over $15 billion by 2030. This includes a $5.5 billion capital outlay for hardware and facilities and a $1.5 billion equity stake in local AI firm G42, which is spearheading the construction of a major AI data center campus in Abu Dhabi.
