Does Elon Musk's AI Project xAI Stand a Chance after His Involvement in U.S. Politics (DOGE)?
Questions are arising about whether Elon Musk's AI project will be put on hold due to his involvement in US politics.

Tech billionaire Elon Musk continues to support the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). However, there's still some mystery regarding his role in President Trump's administration. But that hasn't stopped him from trying to get into mainstream AI models.
Tesla CEO, Elon Musk is raising billions of dollars for his own supercharged AI, called xAI, even though he says there’s still a pretty good chance the technology backfires. He has also been vocal about the potential dangers of AI. In an interview at Saudi Arabia’s Future Investment Initiative summit in Riyadh, Musk sounded the alarm on the risks of artificial intelligence.
He said, "AI is going to get 10 times better this year." He also predicted that "AI would be able to do anything that a human can do within the next year or two." Musk's forecast on AI comes against the backdrop of his startup, xAI reportedly in talks to raise a new funding round that would value it at about $40 billion.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the company, which created the Grok AI chatbot that X premium members receive if they pay for a subscription, already raised $6 billion earlier this year at a $24 billion valuation. Famously, Musk helped launch ChatGPT maker OpenAI in 2015 but left just three years later over differences in opinion among the co-founders. Another reason for the split was because Musk said he wanted to build a competing AI company within Tesla.
Will DOGE Interfere?
Despite the ties with DOGE, Musk is not letting his xAI dream go down. It will stand a chance, regardless of his involvement with US politics. The primary goal of xAI is "to understand the true nature of the universe", and to create an AI that is capable of advanced mathematical reasoning, something not found in current models.
With Musk at the help of xAI's affairs, the world can expect more innovation.
